Happy Easter everyone! I hope you are enjoying the sunshine and have found a few treats from the Easter bunny. I have been doing a bit of personal crafting lately and thought I would share the results with you all.
Ever since I designed our embroidered rabbit egg cosies, I always imagined they would look lovely as part of an Easter display. Well it has taken me a while to actually have a play with an arrangement, and even though I am no florist, I am quite pleased with the result.
On the advice of a very helpful local florist, I picked up some moss whilst out on a walk, and dried it in the green house over the course of a few weeks. It worked fantastically and kept its brilliant bright green colour.
Some of the moss I tore into shape, and other pieces I cut using a pair of old scissors. I also cut a hole in the moss to hold the egg cup in place so that the cosy wouldn’t move around, and then started to add some finishing touches.
These included a few blown quail eggs, some mossy twigs, and a few sprigs of blossom from the trees in my garden. You could also add some little chocolate eggs, or a larger one hidden under the egg cosy (unfortunately I had already eaten mine by the time I started!)
I used the bottom of a glass cloche for one of the cosies, and a couple of cake stands, one of which cost me the grand total of £4 from an antiques shop a few years ago. A fancy plate or a large Kilner jar would work just as well too.
Well I’m off to proudly display my creation on the Easter table, and try and sniff out any chocolate eggs I may have missed!
Happy Easter
